Our chapter provides handmade blankets to children — from infants to teens — through charities and hospitals in and around the Greater Twin Cities area of Minnesota as well as directly to children who have suffered a tragic loss. Between July 2006 and January 2019, the GTCA Chapter has provided handmade blankets to more than 65,000 children. That's a lot of BLANKET HUGS! You can help by making a blanket too! We accept new, handmade blankets of any kind — knitted or crocheted, quilted, or single-layer fleece. What makes them special is that they are handmade for our children and bring with them your caring and good wishes. BECOME A PROJECT LINUS BLANKETEER! Project Linus blanketeers create new, handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to seriously ill and traumatized children, from newborns to the age of 18. All blanket styles are needed in KID-FRIENDLY PRINTS & COLORS — quilts, comforters, fleece blankets, crocheted or knitted afghans, and receiving blankets for infants. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE AN EXPERT TO MAKE A BLANKET THAT IS BEAUTIFUL TO A CHILD. Look at our Blanket Specifications to learn more about the types of blankets we accept. |
